Chunky

Meet Chunky the purebred white-yellow male Puppy. This big puppy is just about 1 year if that and is a big, dopey, darling purebred boy with oodles of energy and tons of wiggles.

Chunky is an acitve puppy and is just at that age where he is still a baby but had grown to a full sized Labby. He is a good sized beauty at 85 lbs. and has some wonderful qualities.

Chunky loves people and loves to cuddle. He needs to learn that he is no longer a lap dog at his size and that he can't quite behave like a little puppy any longer. He is just at the age where it is the perfect time to start training. He loves to play and can play pretty hard with other dogs since he is still a youngster. And becuase he is a youngster, he will need lots of walks, ball throwing, dog park, swims at the beach and the like. And he will certainly need his training.

Chunky does pull on the leash but does very well with a pinch collar. He loves to go on his walks and does try to please. He is not a marker and still squats like a puppy to do his pee pee.

Chunky will do best in a home where someone is totally ready for a very large, active young puppy who needs training. He will do best where he will get lots of exercise each and every day and where he will not be left alone all day at his age. He would love another playful friendly canine companion that will enjoy playing with him.

Chunky seems ok with cats and has ignored the two cats he has met. That said we don't quite trust him and think he probably will chase a cat. We prefer not to place him with cats but if you have a very dog savvy kitty, we may consider it so long as you understand that it may be a challenge.

Chunky is a extremely beautiful, well-bred Labradror. He sits on command and is learning his other commands and he is very, very treat motivated. He only wants to please.

Chunky will be an a treasure of a dog for someone willing to put the work in that a young large Labrador requires.

He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you fell this beauty is right for you and you can commit to a young active Lab, please send an email to donna@dishgirl.com

Boo Boo

Meet Booboo!  Booboo is the cutest little petite black male Labrador in the whole world!  This smaller perfect purebred is only about 55 lbs and is as sweet as sugar!

Booboo is about 3 years of age. He is a gorgeous boy with a perfect shiny black coat and a darling face!  He is a little underweight right now, but with another 5 pounds on him he will fill out beautifully.  Booboo also has a lovely temperment!  He is a little shy at first, but warms up well to people & loves to be pet and loved more than anything!

Booboo was rescued from an owner recently where he was around many other dogs.  Hence, Booboo is great with all other dogs both big and small.  His is a playful boy who will love to have some playtime with other dogs - either with a doggie companion in his new home or at the dog park.  Because Booboo lived with other dogs for the last 2 years, we would like for him to have a doggie companion in his new home.

Booboo is still a young boy, so he does have some playful energy and would be a great dog for dog park, dog beach or the like.  Yet Booboo is also mellow and calm in the house and settles really well.  He really enjoys his foster doggie brother and they get along great.

Booboo has not had any accidents in his foster home, so he appears to be housebroken.  He is non-destructive and would do great left alone during the day as long as he has a doggie companion in his home.

Booboo is a little timid of some new things like tile floors and some noises.  He is learning quickly that he doesn't need to fear any of those things.  A family that will not baby him but show him all the fun things he never experienced before will be best for him.

Booboo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and current on flea control.

If you think this darling little boy is the right dog for you, be sure to send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

Macks

Meet Macks! Macks is a very, very handsome 2-3 year old male purebred Lab. He is extremely shiny and adorable. Just look at that Labby noggin!

Macks is a young, playful wiggler. Originally the shelter had listed Macks as agout 4 years. Of course the moment we met him we could tell he was younger and so could our vet. He's truly a happy guy who loves all people and all other dogs.

Macks came to us from on of the most high kill shelters in all of Los Angeles County proper. And black dogs - ever purebred Labs - are often euthanized simply becuase it's not easy to see them as you walk through the shelter. Dark kennels make that difficult and many are just passed over. Macks is a lucky boy and we feel lucky too as he is truly a perfect example of a nicely bred, sweet Labrador.

Macks is a big boy at 90 lbs and loves to wiggle. He's a truly happy boy that will make a wonderful best friend. And he's even good with cats though he sometimes needs a swat on the nose to be reminded that kitty is always boss!

Macks will be a great family dog but he will not work out with toddlers or kids under 8. He is a jumper. He can learn pretty quickly not to jump but until then he is for sure going to knock kids down. He only wants to please so training him will be a peice of cake. He also is a little mouthy. He likes to put his mouth on you though he never applies pressure. Typical Labrador behavior but best to avoid little ones.

Mack is truly a wonderful Lab who has every quality we adore about our breed.

He is healthy, up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.

If you feel this young beautiful boy is right for you, and if you have already been approved to adopt, please follow up with an email to scartersoo@mac.com

Brooks adoption pending!

Meet Brooks,  an adorable purebred yellow male Labrador of just about 4 years old. This yellow boy is beautiful with a gorgeous golden yellow coat, a great blocky head and beautiful soulful burnt sugar eyes. Brooks is also a nice size of about 72 pounds.

He is a happy, labby boy who is sweet and full of more love than you can imagine.

Brooks is a wonderful Lab who loves his people and and other dogs. He is wonderful with people and lovely with all other dogs and Cats. He is a great candidate for families with kitties. He gets along beautifully with his Labby sister in his foster home and he enjoys meeting new people and new dogs. Pretty much anything in life is wonderful to this guy.

Brooks was picked up as a stray by one of the highest kill shelters in California where he then stayed on a hard concrete floor with the saddest face, just waiting to be rescued. This boy has the best temperament and the constant labby tail wag.  Brooks likely came from a home where his family didn't pay good attention to common ear infections labs can get.  This boy has likely had a few ear infections in his past, which made it necessary for him to get his ears flushed while he was neutered.  With this treatment and some ear drops temporarily, he will be great in no time.  The good news is he is so good about getting his ear drops and lets you touch and play with his ears lots!

We are so happy to have rescued Brooks and he couldn't be happier and more thankful to be starting a fabulous new life! He just has a way about him that makes pretty much everyone smile and want to pet him. He's the kind of dog that brings joy everywhere he goes with a lovely labbie smile on his face.

Brooks needs just a brush up on some basic training, He knows his commands of sit, come and no. He settles so well in the house and really is a mellow-medium energy boy. He loves affection and will sit up right next to you to get some love and pets.  If you stop petting him, you might find his paw on your leg to encourage you to pet him more.

Brooks has not had any accidents in his foster home, so he seems to be completely housebroken.

He can pull on leash a bit, so walking on a training collar for a while would benefit this boy.  He is learning very quickly how to walk next to his leader with a loose leash.

This boy would do great at dog park, he loves hiking, and walks are his favorite. He is still a young boy who needs good daily exercise, but he is a pretty mellow boy who settles very well after having his exercise.

Brooks is not mouthy, and takes treats very gently, so he would likely do well with children, but children over 5 are probably best for this boy.

Brooks  would do well as an only dog or with another doggie companion.  Most importantly, he deserves a loving owner who will shower him with affection and attention!

Brooks is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

If you think this is the boy for you, then be sure to send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

Bullet 2 adoption pending!

Meet Bullet 2!  This sweet boy is a 2 year old yellow male Lab.  He is a beautiful light yellow, cream color and is a nice size at about 70 pounds.  This boy is one gorgeous dog both inside & out.

Bullet had a rough start to his life.  He found himself at one of the highest kill shelters with a bullet in him, hence he earned his name with us.  Yes, somehow this lovely dog had been shot.  The good news is that we found him and were able to get him to a great vet for the surgery and wound care he needed to recover with no lasting effects at all.  We are always stunned at how a human can do such horrible things to an animal.  But Bullet has recovered very well and will be as good as new once his last stitches come out in a week.  He will not need any continued care thank goodness.

Bullet is your typical happy labby boy!  He loves attention and affection from his people and will even crawl into your lab for love it you allow him.  He has already found the doggie toys in his foster home and he loves them all.

Bullet is good with other dogs and really enjoys his foster labbie sister who he happily plays with often.  Bullet would do well with another doggie companion in his new home, or as an only dog as long as his family is not gone really long hours.

This sweet boy walks pretty well on leash and will come when you call or whistle.  We think he would be a great choice for some off leash hiking as he really likes to stay by his person and comes on command always!

Bullet is a medium energy boy who loves to play fetch!  He would love a new home where his family will play fetch with him in the yard or a nearby park.  He is a young Lab at only age 2, so he will need ample daily exercise to ensure he settles well in the house.

He will need a brush up on some of his basic obedience, but he will learn easily as he really wants to please!  A doggie obedience class would be great for him.

We do not know how Bullet will do with cats, so we prefer not to place him in a home with kitties.

If you think you can give Bullet the love he so deserves in his forever home, please be sure to send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

Mitzy adoption pending!

Meet Mitsy, a sweet, petite female lab who is a very gentle girl!  Mitsy is a pretty yellow girl of superior temperament. This 1.5 year old yellow lab is on the smaller side - she is only 50 pounds currently.  She has a cute, innocent face & lovely brown eyes!  Mitsy is currently a little underweight and needs to gain about 5 pounds.  She should be about 55 pounds at her ideal weight.

Mitsy does need her daily exercise as she is still a young Lab at only 1.5 years old, but she is the perfect mix of mellow calmness and energetic fun.  Mitsy is a very loving girl who deserves lots of love and affection in return.

Mitsy came to us from a high kill shelter where she was found as a stray. The shelter was a high kill shelter lacking in space and we rescued her just before she was in danger of euthanasia. Hard to believe a sweet, beautiful, calm girl like this with outstanding temperament could be in danger, but due to overpopulation, this is sadly the case.

Mitsy is a darling girl who will follow you everywhere.  She walks very well on leash!  She also loves to sleep on your bed next to you, or on the couch and loves the doggie bed in her foster home.

Mitsy also loves to play fetch.  She is still learning the art of giving the ball back to you, but her foster dad is teaching her well!  She is a young girl who will need her daily exercise, a nice long walk or a game of fetch is perfect for her.

Mitsy settles beautifully in the house after her walk. She likes to be close to you and nap at your feet or on the bed & nestled up close.

Mitsy is completely housebroken and uses the doggie door at her foster home.

Mitsy will do beautifully as an only dog or with another friendly doggie companion.  She is currently fostered with a 6 year old male lab and they get along very well.

Mitsy is a medium energy girl - requiring her daily exercise, but a couple of moderate walks a day are just fine for her.  She is still a young girl, so she may try to put her paws up on the counter or perhaps select your shoe to chew on, so it is important to keep an eye on her and keep all food off counters & give her plenty of wonderful doggie chew toys so she doesn't get into anything.

Mitsy is starting to learn some commands of sit and down.  Her new family will need to continue her training, but with a gentle hand, she will learn quickly.  She does not need a strong owner, she just needs some gentle positive reinforcement to continue to learn.

Mitsy will do well with children, but we prefer to place her with children over age 5.  She does get very excited around her toys and while playing fetch, and can jump up to try to get the toy from you quickly.  She is learning to stay and wait to be given the toy, but she will benefit from continued training with this.

Mitsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped & ready for her new home!

If you think this girl is the right one for you, be sure to complete an application and then send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

Sampson adoption pending!

Meet Sampson, a truly gorgeous purebred Labrador Retriever Puppy. This male puppy is 9 months old and jet black. He is really stunning and has outstanding temperament.

Sampson came to us when he owners got divorced. Poor Sampson was left alone all day and was being ignored and neglected. Luckily his owner was kind enough to realize Sampson deserved better and contacted us right away.

Sampson is a wonderful, sweet boy. He is a little on the shy guy but really warmed up to everyone once he was in his foster home around other dogs. He is on the timid side but warms up quickly and just has so much love and sweetness to him. He will steal your heart in seconds flat.

Sampson is wonderful with other dogs. He just loves them. He will do best in a home with another friendly and even playful friendly dog. He is currently fostered with an older Golden Retriever male and they get along beautifully.

Sampson will also do well with cats. He pretty much ignores them.

Sampson is a more submissive boy and not the dominant type. He is sensitive and loving and really pretty perfect. He is a good boy in the house and car and is housebroken and non-destructive.

Sampson will do his best in a home with another friendly canine companion and where he will get a lot of attention and love. He will need a little work on the leash. He does pretty well but can pull a little at times. He corrects easily.

He is on the larger side at about 80 lbs and is still growing - not up - but out. He will continue to fill out over the next few months and will be a stunningly gorgeous purebred male adult.

Sampson is truly a special boy. Whoever is lucky enough to meet this boy will fall hard.

Sampson is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and ready for love.

Jack Black adoption pending!

Jack was born on July 10, 2010.  So he is almost a year and a half.  He is a big boy and going to get bigger.  He is an owner relinquishment.  The past owner had an 11 year old lab and with the age difference it was not a match.  When we first got him he was a good 10-15 lbs. under weight.  He has gained about 5 lbs and is starting to fill out nicely.  He's probably at around 77-80 lbs. now and he will bulk up as he is now getting fed twice a day.  He is very lean and muscular.  He is a strong dog and plays hard.  He is neutered, chipped and up to date on all of his shots.  Ready for his forever home.  He's good with other dogs and children.  Not sure about cats.

He is currently living with a family that has a 4 year old son and a 5 year old golden retriever.  Jack plays wonderfully with both child and dog, however, we would prefer he goes to a family with older children.  Jack has a bad habit of bolting out of any open door.  So his new owner will need to do some boundary training first and foremost.  Jack will need a strong, loving hand to teach him not to bolt out of open doors.

His former owner left him outside most of the time and when they did let him come indoors they would put his collar on him and tie him to a stationery spot, so Jack doesn't like collars.  There was a simple solution, keep his collar on all the time!!!  At first, he didn't want to come into the house because he thought he'd be tied down.  After just a few weeks with the foster family, a doggy door and his very own doggy bed, his anxiety has been lifted.  So he may need some TLC when it comes to getting his collar on.  Santa got Jack a doggy bed and lots of toys that will go with him to his forever home.

For a dog his size, Jack is a gentle giant.  He wiggles and kisses in that familiar lab way.  He'll even roll down onto his back for a belly rub.  He is not a crazy jumper, but sneaks one in here and there.  He will need at least two walks a day and plenty of ball tossing in between.  He is full of energy.  Remember that a tired dog is a happy dog.

His foster has already seen improvement in him during walks.  He gets the 'no pull'.  He is very eager to please, sits on command and don't be surprised if he becomes your shadow.  He is known to sit so close to you that he's actually sitting on your foot.  If you want a big goof ball to cuddle with and complete your family, Jack is your boy.  But remember that he will bolt out of any open door, including a garage door, so be prepared to give him the time and dedication he will need to be trained not to bolt through an open door.

Jack is healthy, up to date on vaccines, and neutered. Jack is fostered in Orange County.
